Exploring Piano is a small group class for Kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders to learn beginning piano.
Your child will love the weekly exploration of piano with our highly skilled teachers.
Students experience hands-on time at the piano each week, in addition to engaging games and activities that teach fundamental skills.
Our curriculum includes piano and note reading basics, giving students a great foundation for future music lessons and ensembles.
Students are not required to practice or have a piano at home.

Park in the main parking lot by the playground and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Go left down the hall all the way to find Room 211.

Caregivers
Caregivers and siblings are welcome to attend class and watch from the sidelines, or you can drop your child off at the classroom.
Students with learning or behavior challenges should have a caregiver stay and assist them during class.
GAP Kids
Children in the after school childcare program at Grand Avenue Preschool will be picked up and dropped off from their classroom by music teacher.
Be sure to fill out an Activities Form and turn it into the office before the first day of class.
Tuition
🔄 Monthly Membership: $112/month
Your credit card on file will be automatically charged $112 per child on the 1st day of the month through May 1, 2027. Your first payment may be prorated if you sign up in the middle of the month.
Withdraw from classes at any time with 30-days notice emailed to info@mattixmusic.com.
Monthly Membership classes are eligible for unlimited make-up classes as space allows.
Monthly Membership students receive 4 free Guest Passes to share with friends. Invite a buddy to attend class with you anytime!
Park District of La Grange: Starting at $179/session

Group Class Policy
- Students are not required give notice of an absence but please notify your teacher or our office as early as possible to allow for more students to schedule make-ups in Monthly Membership classes.
- You may schedule unlimited make-up classes as long as there is room in another class time during the semester. Contact our studio office to arrange your make-up class.
- Make-ups or absences will not be refunded and expire at the end of the term or school year.
- In the event of severe weather, for your safety, classes will be canceled.
- Monthly Membership tuition is month-to-month but we require 30-days written notice in order to withdraw. No refunds will be issued during the 30-day notice period.
- Tuition payment will be charged on the 1st day of each month. If payment is not received by the 7th day of the month, students will be unenrolled until the account is paid in full.
- While we do not anticipate issues, Mattix Music Studio teachers reserve the right to excuse children with destructive, aggressive, excessively distracting or disrespectful behavior. Parents with high energy students should consider attending class with their child to assist their behavior as needed. Thank you for your support to make sure our educational environment is fun, welcoming and safe!
- Classes booked through the Park District of La Grange are subject to their policies.
- Classes booked through the Park District of La Grange are not eligible for make-up classes.
