Big Events & Recitals

Steinway artist Derek Chiu and Grammy-winning violist Istvan Loga present a chamber music concert at 7:00pm at Union Church in Hinsdale, IL. The event is sponsored by Steinway Chicago and free to the public. Reception to follow the concert.

Students ages 5 to adult at any level may sign up to participate in a masterclass with Steinway artist Derek Chiu. Sign up by October 1st through your teacher. Saturday masterclasses are held at Steinway Hinsdale. Learn more here.  

Violin and viola students will perform solos for recitals at 1:00 or 2:30pm on Sunday, December 7th at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs. Sign up with your teacher by November 14th. Students needing a piano accompanist can book a complimentary 15-minute rehearsal time online.

Piano, voice, trumpet and guitar students will perform in recitals at 9:30am, 10:45am, 1:00pm, 2:15pm or 3:30pm. Sign up with your teacher by November 21st.

Students will begin the 100-Day Practice Challenge when they will practice for 100 days in a row! Make it to the end to earn a trophy.

Students may choose to participate in the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival on February 22nd at Concordia University. Play 2 polished pieces for an adjudicator for comments and points towards a trophy. The cost is $55, paid to Mattix Music. Sign up by mid-December through your teacher. Viola students perform in a group concert at 3:00pm on April 26th at at Union Church of Hinsdale. Arrive at 2:45 to unpack and tune.
